1.     What is the significance of the name Bun Appetit?

- Bun Appetit is a wordplay on the French term Bon Appetit which means good appetite. It is a wish for someone to enjoy their meal. Though our focus is on seafood, the bread that we use is also important. The buns hold everything together. The pun is fully intended!

 

2. What is the image in your logo?

-     Our logo has a drawing of a lobster claw. Our most popular product is the lobster roll and it is made of lobster claw and knuckle meat.

 

3. Where does your seafood come from?

-     Our lobsters are from Maine. The crab and shrimp are locally sourced from Negros and Bacolod respectively.

 

4. Do you use real crab meat?

- Absolutely! We use blue swimming crabs (alimasag).

 

5. What kind of bread do you use?

-     We use New England top split potato buns for the rolls and sliced potato bread for the grilled cheese. A sourdough upgrade is available for the grilled cheese.

 

The sourdough we use for our shrimp avocado toast is different from the sourdough upgrade for the grilled cheese.

 

6. How big are the rolls?

-     The bread we use for the rolls are 5 inches long. The sandwiches are really good for 1 but may be split into 2 at most if you’re not too hungry. :)

 

7. Do you have gluten-free or keto bread options?

- None at the moment.

 

8. What are the special requests that can be accommodated?

-     For the rolls: less or more mayo, butter, spices and a deconstructed version for those who plan to order for take out and will not consume immediately.

 

9. How are the sandwiches reheated?

-     Sandwiches may be reheated using an oven toasted at very low heat.

 

10. What common allergens are in your products?

-     Shellfish, wheat, dairy and eggs (mayonnaise) are all present in our kitchen.
